Things To Do in Bali

Most people head over to Bali a few days before the Pilates retreat starts.
We all have different ideas of a good time when we’re on holidays, so if sitting on the beach, or by the pool reading a good book is more your thing then that’s great too!
Here are a few activities that you can consider whilst on a non-retreat day.
Shopping
Last year I took some peeps into Kuta to do a spot of market shopping. It’s about 30 minutes from Vila Adila and is a hub of activity.
Beach – Free / $3
Vila Adila is 10minutes drive away from a big beach called Pandawa Beach. Packed with tourists but it is beautiful and expansive. Does cost a few dollars, I think it’s $3 from memory.
Greenbowl Beach
About a 20 minute walk past Monkey Alley (not really a name just what I call it) is Greenbowl Beach.
Small, private, and has a few caves there. Lots of stairs (we counted 330 each way) and is beautiful at sunset.
Melasti Beach
Melasti Beach is about 5 minutes drive, and is bigger than Greenbowl, and is really only known to the locals. Much quieter than Pandawa and great for floating around in the sun or laying on the beach for a bit. Lots of cliffs too so there’ll be plenty of shade, but no stairs =)
Treetop Adventure Park – $33 entry and $70 per car for the whole day (so if a couple of people went you could split the cost)
Here’s my video: https://youtu.be/su7BIi29isE
This would be a day trip to Bedugul, through the heart of Bali up to the Botanical Gardens.
The Park is a high ropes course where you are tethered to a safety harness and have to pass challenges of walking on wires, climbing up ladders and general tom-foolery up in the trees.
Lots of fun, but will take up the whole day as it’s 3 hrs of travel each way. And 2 hours to do the course. 8 hours total.
Lake Beratan – Free
If you’re going to the adventure park in Bedugul, you have to check out this lake.
It has a beautiful Temple there and heaps of local food and produce. Throughout the village you’ll notice a very traditional Bali feel.
You can take a speedboat around the lake, which lasts 30 minutes or so, to take some snaps and enjoy the picturesque scenery. The speedboat is about $20 for up to 3 people. So I think it’s a lovely way to spend about $8.
WaterBom Water Park – $50 entry
Ok. This is something that I’d love you to join in on if you’re keen.
It is a day if fun rides and staying cool in the Bali heat. Conquer tour fears and ride a water slide that Boomerangs you up almost 180 degrees and then back down to safety.
There’s also massages, food shacks and tube floats if chilling is more your thing!
Trapeze – $45/lesson
Ok. This is the most fun- of all fun, in my opinion 😉
Flying through the air and being caught after learning to do a trick is an insane feeling.
This is mainly targeted at kids in Dynasty Resort, but adults give it a go too.
You’re attached to a safety harness at all times, and they assist you to lift your body weight so it’s not too hard on the arms.
They teach you the trick first, then when you’re ready they let you try a catch!
For those who dare, I have a lesson booked on Fri 29th in Kuta, and we might do our market shopping that day too so we save a trip.
Remember all activities are up to you, it’s your holiday =)
