$5 for a tiny berry?! What is this fruit? - Pilates Exclusive

Week 5 continued.

I was cruising the diggers club website one night when I came across this little beauty.

It’s called miracle fruit, miraculous fruit or miraculous berry, and it’s a bit of a novelty.

It makes sour, bitter and acidic things turn sweet.

Well, not exactly.

If I was eating a lemon, then had a berry from the miracle fruit tree, returned to eating the same lemon, it would trick my taste buds into thinking that it was sweet!

The effects last anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours depending on the person, and is totally cool.

The whole plant is edible, leaves as well as berries.

Showing it to a client today, they asked me if it was legal. Relax – it was a joke, and it is completely legal, just not cheap. Fresh berries are about the size of a grape, and cost between $4 to $5, with 10 tablets made from the juice costing $15!!!

The tag says fast-growing, and that it fruits from April to June. So expect to see a few of these berries around the studio the moment they produce!

Super well packed, with no damage at all.

Only after I received my little tree in the mail, did I realise it had other health benefits.

Miracle Fruit is high in:

Calcium

Magnesium

Iron

Vitamins A and C.

Can’t wait to share this with you all!

Mel out.

Lessons:

  1. Miracle fruit is a thing. It turns sour things sweet.
  2. Mail order nurseries rock hard. Diggers have an awesome postage service that delivers plants in perfect condition.
